{"id":120,"date":"2024-06-18T15:18:55","date_gmt":"2024-06-18T15:18:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/?p=120"},"modified":"2024-06-18T15:35:26","modified_gmt":"2024-06-18T15:35:26","slug":"mega-filling-station-owners-lament-harsh-business-environment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/index.php\/2024\/06\/18\/mega-filling-station-owners-lament-harsh-business-environment\/","title":{"rendered":"Mega filling station owners lament harsh business environment"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-119\" src=\"https:\/\/panoramanews.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Filling-Station-Owners.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"275\" height=\"183\" \/><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Association of Mega Filling Station Owners of Nigeria (AMFSON) has lamented the harsh business operating environment in the country, citing rising energy costs to run outlets, huge transportation costs in ferrying products to their stations as well as shrinking margins in the sale of products.<\/p>\n<p>This was even as the association inaugurated its National Executive Committee with Chief Davison Nwankwo as the National President.<\/p>\n<p>AMFSON noted that the inauguration of its officials came at a time when the nation is battling an epileptic supply and high cost of petroleum products across the country.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement made available to Journalists in Kaduna after its Ordinary General Meeting (OGM) in PortHarcourt, Rivers State, the Secretary of the Board of Trustees of AMFSON, Ambassador Kenneth Nwachukwu, recalled that AMFSON came into existence in 2010 intending to protect the interest of its members.<\/p>\n<p>Nwachukwu, therefore, urged AMFSON members to remain united and committed to the cause of the association fo derive maximum benefits from the association.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement, \u201cThe Association of Mega Filling Station Owners of Nigeria (AMFSON) has inaugurated its national executive committee with Chief Davison Nwankwo as the national President.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe inauguration ceremony was the highpoint of the 2024 Ordinary General Meeting (OGM), which was held at Tokyu Grande Hotel, Port Harcourt marked the full return of the umbrella body of owners of filling stations branded in NNPC colours across the country.<\/p>\n<p>The rejuvenation of AMFSON is coming as the nation continues to battle epileptic supply and high cost of petroleum products across the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBefore the inauguration ceremony, members of the association who converged in Port Harcourt from across the country lamented the harsh operating environment under which their members were operating.<br \/>\nSome of the challenges include rising energy costs to run their outlets, huge transportation costs in ferrying products to their stations, and shrinking margins in the sale of products.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing AMFSON delegates shortly after the inauguration, the National President, Chief Davison Nwankwo, expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him by the members to pilot the affairs of the association.<\/p>\n<p>Nwankwo, who is also the Managing Director of Deez Oil &amp;Gas Limited, assured members that the business interests of AMFSON members would be fully protected under his leadership.<\/p>\n<p>He further assured that AMFSON would constructively engage the leadership of the NNPC Limited to ensure that the businesses made by its members yield positive returns on investment.<\/p>\n<p>The inaugurated national executive committee of AMFSON includes Chief Davison Nwankwo (President), Barr Jacob Obande (Vice President), Ambassador Kenneth Nwachukwu (National Secretary), Obi Okechukwu (Publicity Secretary), and Comrade Prince Omugbe (Treasurer).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOthers are Hon Ejike Amedu(Public Relations Officer), Toyin Ogunwole (Zonal Vice Chairman, South-West), Emmanuel Okon(Zonal Vice Chairman, South-South), and Salem Ahmed (Zonal Vice Chairman, North-West).\u201d NAN<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Association of Mega Filling Station Owners of Nigeria (AMFSON) has lamented the harsh business operating environment in the country,&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":119,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4,2],"tags":[34,33],"class_list":["post-120","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-business-economy","category-news","tag-association-of-mega-filling-station-owners-of-nigeria","tag-nnpc"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.8 -
