Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have rescued the three kidnapped Fouani brothers, prominent members of the Fouani Nigeria Ltd. Family, a leading electronics company and the sole distributor of LG, Hisense, and Maxi products in Nigeria.<\/p>\n
Gunmen had on Friday abducted MD of the company, alongside three Lebanese brothers,\u00a0Abbas Fouani, Youssef Fouani, and Amtal Fouani, at about 6pm on June 14 en route to Victoria Island by boat from their Apapa factory.<\/p>\n
However, Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police spokesperson on Tuesday disclosed the Monday night rescue.<\/p>\n
According to him \u201cThey were rescued late last night in Orugbo Iddo. Our marine police with the support of the Nigerian Navy brought them to shore.<\/p>\n
\u201cThereafter, our tactical team in the area took them home on Banana Island in the early hours of today.<\/p>\n
\u201cFive of them, three Lebanese, the boat captain and his assistant.\u201d<\/p>\n
The kidnappers had contacted the families of the victims, demanding a ransom of $1.5 million.<\/p>\n
Hundeyin did not give details on the rescue operation and it is not yet clear whether the ransom was paid or not.<\/p>\n
