The grassroots campaign for Attorney Charles Chibuike Onyirimba and the Action Democratic Party (ADP) gained fresh momentum with an engagement between campaign leaders and the Amaraku Market Traders Association, including representatives of the transportation wing.<\/p>\n
The delegation comprised the Director-General, Mrs. Favour Nwelue; Chief Ferdinand Ogor, Chief Strategist; Chief Magnus Orjiako, Director of Security and Police Affairs; and Pastor Tony Iwuoma, Director of Media, Communications and Stakeholder Relations.<\/p>\n
The meeting provided an opportunity to present Onyirimba\u2019s candidacy and the ADP proposition while listening to concerns affecting traders, transport operators, businesses, security, infrastructure and livelihoods.<\/p>\n

The campaign presented Onyirimba as a prospective senator whose legal training, journalism background, public affairs experience, community leadership and international exposure could be brought to bear on the legislative, oversight and representative responsibilities of the Senate.<\/p>\n
For Okigwe Zone, the campaign argues that such experience could strengthen advocacy for legislation and policies affecting markets, small businesses, transportation, infrastructure, employment, security and economic opportunities, while providing a stronger voice for constituency concerns at the national level.<\/p>\n

The traders, however, made it clear that political representation must begin with protecting the people\u2019s mandate. They counselled that votes must be protected against manipulation, intimidation and rigging, stressing that the choice made by voters at the polling unit should be respected and faithfully reflected in the final outcome.<\/p>\n
They also welcomed the delegation and indicated their support, while making a practical request: that the campaign return for a broader engagement involving the entire body of traders.<\/p>\n
The request underscores the importance of sustained grassroots dialogue. The Amaraku encounter was therefore not merely an opportunity for the campaign to speak about Onyirimba; it was also an opportunity for the people to articulate what they expect from those seeking to represent them.<\/p>\n
