Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the Governor of Anambra State, has been reelected for another four years in office.
Soludo’s victory was declared by Prof. Edogah Omoregie, the Returning Officer, of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, made the declaration at the commission’s headquarters in Awka on Sunday.
The governor polled 422,664 votes to emerge the winner of the election, with his closest rival, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, polled 99,445 votes to come second.
Paul Chukwuma, the candidate of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, secured 37,753 votes.
George Moghalu, the flag bearer of the Labour Party scored 10,576 votes, while John Nwosu, the candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, polled 8,208 votes.
