A dispute over food on Thursday left two elderly persons dead in Kano.
It was gathered that 30-year-old Mutawakilu Ibrahim allegedly stabbed the victims, who were his grandparents, to death during a sharp dispute over food.
The ugly incident occured at their residence in Kofar Dawanau Quarters, Dala Local Government Area of the state.
The Kano State Police Command has arrested the suspect.
A statement issued by SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, the spokesperson, said the incident was promptly reported at the Dala Divisional Police Headquarters after it happened at about 9:30 am.
The suspect was believed to be intoxicated when his grandparents, who were identified as 75-year-old Muhammad Dansokoto, 75, and grandmother, 65-year-old Hadiza Tasidi, 65, following a dispute over food.
The duo was rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, Kano, but were confirmed them dead on arrival by medical personnel.
