The Nigerian Air Force has dealt a severe blow on bandits operating in Katsina State, destroying their enclaves and freeing no less than 76 hostages.
This development was confirmed by the Katsina State Government in a statement on Saturday, August 23, 2025.
According to Dr. Nasir Mu’azu, the state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, a notorious bandit kingpin, Babaro and his gang’s enclave were completely destroyed, resulting in the rescue kidnaped victims, comprising men, women and children.
“This morning, the NAF carried out a decisive air operation at Pauwa Hill in Kankara Local Government Area, successfully rescuing 76 kidnapped victims, including women and children,” the statement read.
Some of the victims were abducted during the attack on Unguwan Mantau in Malumfashi during which one child was killed.
The state government lauded the troops and also urged residents in the state to pass useful intelligence to security agencies to aid their fight against the hoodlums in the state.
