The former Minister of State for Education, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, HCN, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, condemned what he described as excruciating hardship foisted on the people by the government.

Basking in his birthday celebration alongside his wife, who also shares the same birthdate with him, he promised Nigerians of a new hope on the horizon.

In a short touching tribute to his wife on Facebook, Nwajiuba wrote: “God is able to keep; He has kept, and he’s still keeping.

“The 20th of August is a very significant day in our lives, and it’s a thing of joy to share the same birthday with my wife.

“Undoubtedly, my wife is one of the best parts of my life. Thanks for making our home beautiful. Thanks for all your prayers and support.

I love you endlessly. Happy birthday and my darling wife.”

Friends and well-wishers thronged his page to share the joy of the moment and wish the couple well.

In another development, the former minister, who had aspired to succeed the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, but lost in the controversial All Progressives Congress, APC, primaries to President Bola Tinubu, in a statement titled: “Strengthening for service”, while appreciating everyone, hinted that he is not yet with political aspiration.

“May I quickly express my gratitude to everyone who has prayed for my wife and I, this day of our birth, 20th August, which we share with many others. May all these kind wishes and prayers also be returned to you all.

“I am also delighted to note that many of these wishes and prayers have also been punctuated by even heavier requests to uplift our nation, Nigeria, and its people.

“As excruciating as the present hardship across the country is, and as malcontent as in all social strata, maybe. It is incumbent on all people of goodwill to join forces.

“The Nigerian polity is generally filled with good people. The actions of very few persons, among the power and decision-making segments, are the source of this real pain. Unbridled corruption, unmasked kleptomania by persons who are already excessively wealthy, unconstitutional, mendacious governance, and unparalleled pillaging of our joint patrimony, stinks to the highest heavens.”

Nwajiuba took a dig at the present leadership of the country, promising that the ongoing political realignments would rescue the country.

“Nigeria has never in its history assembled such abject misfits of unqualified yet unquenchable kleptomaniac inebriated gang.

“I, therefore, plead with every Nigerian who has not sold their soul to this evil gang, to kindly join forces with all citizens across our platforms of The Young Nigerian Voices, The New Nigerian Patriots, and the African Democratic Congress, ADC, to mobilise and exorcise this evil from our government. This will be our goal at the upcoming elections in 2027.

” Project Nigeria is designed to project a new Nigeria.

“I plead that we join our strengths to usher in a new Nigeria.”
