Comfort Emmanson, the Ibom Air passenger, who was remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Centre over her unruly behaviour at the Murtala Mohammed Airport on Sunday, August 10, 2025, has regained her freedom.
Emmanson was released, following the withdrawal of charges against her by the Federal Government and the airliner, following the intervention of Festus Keyamo, SAN, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development.
The minister cited consultations with aviation stakeholders, public appeals, and the remorse shown by parties involved. Ibom Air also formally withdrew its complaint as part of the settlement.
She has also confirmed regaining freedom from custody.
Posting on her Instagram handle @soft_commy, Emmanson thanked supporters for their prayers and concern.
According to her, she is still in pain over her treatment and would share her full account after rest and medical care.
Her release followed a ruling by the Ikeja Magistrate Court, Ogba, on Wednesday, which struck out the five-count charge against her. Presiding Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami dismissed the case after the police applied for its withdrawal.
