Hon. Kabiru Amadu popularly known as Mai Palace, a member of the House of Representatives, has renovated 80 cemeteries as constituency project in Zamfara.
The lawmaker, who represents Gusau/Tsafe Federal Constituency, announced during the inauguration of the of the project inauguration on Tuesday, that it is part of his constituency projects.
“Today, we embarked on the renovation of 80 cemeteries as part of my 2nd year anniversary as a second-term member of the House of Representatives,” said.
“We had noticed the dilapidated conditions of our cemeteries across my constituency. All of us are going to be buried here, and we must ensure we improve the conditions of our last home.
“In Islam, we know that keeping cemeteries in good conditions prevents calamities and disasters in the society,” he claimed.
Maipalace promised to pay allowances to provide working tools and pay monthly allowances to the workers at the cemeteries.
Although the District Head of Tsafe East, Aliyu Abubakar, commended the initiative, not a few constituents were amused and also angry at the same time that all the lawmaker was interested in was burying places instead of the people’s well-being.
