Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, has again cried out over the “blatant act of trespass” and an “assault on the rule of law” on the property of Next Foods, a company in which, Ndibe, his younger brother, has majority stakes.
Obi said the same individual responsible for the initial demolition had returned in the night to erect a fence, allegedly in a bid to divide the land into two, even though matter is now in court.“The secrecy and desperation surrounding this act speak volumes. It reeks of impunity and appears to be a calculated move to further complicate the ongoing legal proceedings,” Obi stated.
He described the move as “a direct assault on the rule of law” but trusts the judiciary to resolve the matter speedily.
“Fortunately, the matter is now before the court. We trust that justice will not only be done, but be seen to be done swiftly, decisively, and in full accordance with the law,” he added.
