Residents of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, were shocked when a yet-to-be-identified man reportedly fell from one of the upper floors of the 26-storey Cocoa House in the city.

According to eyewitnesses reports, the victim was initially mistaken for a large bird.

“When it landed, I realised it was a human being. I was so stunned I couldn’t even record it,” a witness disclosed.

Further speaking on the incident, another said: “The victim first struck a roof near the security post before hitting the ground. It was terrifying.”

It is not yet clear how the man but investigations are ongoing to unravel the circumstances.

Mr. Victor Ayetoro, Head of Branding and Communication at Odu’a Investment Company Limited, owners of the structure, confirmed the incident.

According to him, the victim was received treatment by emergency responders before he was rushed to the University College Hospital, Ibadan, for  medical attention.

The company expressed concern over the matter and promised to fully cooperate with the authorities during the investigation.
