Osinachi and husband, Peter
The Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Wuse on Monday, sentenced the Peter Nwachukwu, husband of the late gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu, to death by hanging.
The convict was arraigned on June 3, 2022, with a 23-count charge filed by the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation.
The prosecution called 17 witnesses, including two of the deceased’s children, and tendered 25 exhibits during the trial.
Nwachukwu testified in his defence and called four other witnesses as well as presenting four exhibits.
The gospel singer, who became famous through her collaboration with Prospa Ochimana on the gospel hit song, Ekwueme in 2017, was killed by her husband on April 8, 2022, following a series of domestic abuse.
