As the world across religion and creed express shock and disbelief over the passing of Pope Francis, Dr George Moghalu, governorship candidate of Labour Party in the forthcoming November 2025 gubernatorial election in Anambra State has joined Anambrarians and the global community to mourn the exit of the Catholic pontiff.
The death of Pope Francis was announced Monday morning from Vatican sparking an outflow of mournful regrets across the world.
In a statement signed by his Media aide, Dr Ikenna Agụ, Moghalu said the late Catholic pontiff redefined leadership.
“Pope Francis was not only the spiritual leader of over a billion Catholics worldwide, but also a moral compass whose humility, compassion, and unwavering commitment to peace, justice, and service touched lives across faiths, continents, and generations
His papacy redefined leadership in the Catholic Church, breaking barriers and building bridges through love, inclusion, and charity.
“Moghalu stressed that the legacy of Pope Francis would remain an inspiration especially in Anambra
“In Anambra, a land deeply rooted in Catholic tradition and values, Pope Francis was a beacon of inspiration to millions. His teachings ignited hope in the hearts of the poor, the marginalized, and the broken. His life was a testament to the power of kindness, simplicity, and fearless advocacy for the voiceless.
“While we mourn this monumental loss, we also celebrate a life well lived — a life that challenged us to be better humans, to walk in the light of truth, and to carry the burdens of others with dignity and faith.
“On behalf of my family, my campaign Council and the good people of Anambra State, I extend deepest condolences to the Vatican, the global Catholic community, and every soul touched by the extraordinary ministry of Pope Francis.
“The world has lost a shepherd, a peacemaker, and a rare symbol of divine humanity. Though his voice is now silent, his legacy will echo forever in our hearts.
