The families of Samson Onyekuru and Ajoku of Orji and Mpama Egbu, respectively, all in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State, have with a heavy heart but gratitude to God announced the passing to eternal glory of their wife, mother and grandmother, sister and auntie, Ezinne Mrs. Mercy Ojinika Ojiugo Onyekuru, nee Ajoku.
Ada Jonathan, as Ndaa Mercy was fondly called slept in the Lord at the ripe age of 101 years.
Funeral arrangements released on behalf of the family by one of her children, Nnejiakolam Onyekuru, shall kick off with a Service of Songs at her residence, 6, Okey Osuji Street, by SS and Philips Catholic Church, Mpama, Umuofor, Egbu at 5pm on Thursday, April 24, 2025.
On Friday, April 25, her remains shall be retrieved from the mortuary to her residence for lying in state, before proceeding to the funeral service scheduled for the All Saints Anglican Cathedral, Egbu, at 11am.
Interment follows immediately after at her residence.
In her lifetime, Nda Mercy was an active community leader whose role was profound, especially among the Christian womenfolk.
The centenarian lived a good and well-fulfilled life and shall be sorely missed by her children, grandchildren, in-laws and scores of several relations she left behind to mourn her irreplaceable exit.
