The Vice Chancellor of Michael Ọkpara University of Agriculture, Ụmụdike, Umuahia has invited application from prospective students of management sciences into the university effective 2024/25 academic session.
This followed the milestone approval granted by the National Universities Commission (NUC) for the university to offer bachelor of science degrees in wide range of courses in business education.
The development has opened the way for prospective students to pursue academic excellence and capacity building in critical fields such as Accounting, Banking & Finance, Economics, Business Management, and Marketing.
John U. Ihendinihu, a Professor of Accounting, in the university disclosed in a statement noting that the approval would not have been possible but for the visionary leadership of the Vice Chancellor and his indefatigable team.
He also ancknowlwged the pivotal role played by Hon Sam Onuigbo, former member representing Ikwuano Umuahia North/South Federal constituency .
The statement reads in part:
“I am profoundly delighted by the recent approval granted by the National Universities Commission (NUC) for the commencements science of Management Science programs at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU) from the 2024/2025 academic session
“This approval marks a historic milestone in our university’s pursuit of academic excellence and capacity building in critical fields such as Accounting, Banking & Finance, Economics, Business Management, and Marketing.
“This remarkable achievement would not have been possible without the visionary leadership of our esteemed Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe, and his dedicated management team, whose relentless efforts, strategic engagement, and unwavering commitment have brought this dream to fruition.
“I also extend my heartfelt appreciation to Rep Sir Sam Onuigbo KJW Odozi Obodo Gburugburu, for his invaluable, distinctive and unparalleled support and politically spirited navigation of the terrain to unmask the masquerade to make this milestone a reality.
” Their collective dedication has created a legacy that will shape the future of business education at MOUAU for generations to come.
I, therefore, encourage all prospective students, parents/guardians, and the interested publics, to seize this golden opportunity and enroll into our newly approved B.Sc. programs.
