Senator Samuel Anyanwu, aka Sam Daddy, has bounced back as the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

This follows the Supreme Court’s reversal of his sacking by  the Federal High Court and Court of Appeal.

A five-member panel of the apex court on Friday, held that the issue of who is the National Secretary of the PDP borders on the internal affairs of a political party which is not justiciable.

According to Justice Jamilu Tukur, who delivered the lead judgment of the Supreme Court, the ruling of the lower court delivered in October last year and that of the Court of Appeal, which affirmed the sacking of Anyanwu, as PDP’s National Secretary by a majority decision in December, was struck out while it upheld the minority judgment by Justice Ekanem, nullifying the judgment of the trial court on account of lack of jurisdiction.

Furthermore, the apex court held that the plaintiff, Aniagu Emmanuel, who initiated the suit at the trial court lacked the locus standi to do so, having failed to show how who is the National Secretary of the PDP would affect him.
