The House of Representatives on Thursday approved the declaration of a state of emergency for Rivers State by President Bola Tinubu regardless of strident opposition.
The lawmakers also approved the six-month suspension of the state governor, Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and all elected members of the state House of Assembly via a voice vote.
