Angry youths from Ngor Okpala LGA of Imo State have stormed forests in the locality in search of kidnappers.
After combing the forest, the youths succeeded in arresting five suspected kidnappers.
The raid which was conducted in collaboration with local hunters, followed an incident last week when kidnappers struck in the town and attacked commuters.
It was gathered that the arrested alleged kidnappers comprised two two Abia State indigenes and three northerners.

All the villagers were reportedly summoned for the operation through local town criers with a condition failure to come. Out would attract a fine of N50, 000.

“The youth and the local hunters came out in large numbers combing the forest and succeeded in capturing the kidnappers who a few days ago attacked passengers who were going to Aba, Abia state from Imo state,” a source in the town said.

“The kidnappers were eventually handed over to the operatives of the joint security outfit who were on hand to take them to the police station, having been informed by the villagers of the planned operation.”
