Blood and tears as 8 burnt to death in Edo fatal road crash

Tears flowed ceaselessly as eight persons were burnt to death along the Benin-Auchi expressway, in Edo State .

It was gathered that a truck said to be conveying diesel, has reportedly rammed into vehicles, which were trapped in traffic congestion and went up in flames.
The incident was said to have  happened on Sunday at Agbede community by channel 5, in Etsako West Local Government Area of the state.

The truck was heading towards Auchi from Benin City when it developed a brake failure, as it descended the Ewu hill and rammed into  vehicles trapped in a traffic.

Cyril Mathew,  the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Edo State, who confirmed the tragedy said: “the accident involved four vehicles with two of them carry diesel and jet fuel.”

“Two of the victims died on Sunday, while four were rushed to the hospital.
“As at today Monday, one of the victims rushed to the hospital died. Five more corpses were  recovered from the crash  after the fire service had put out the inferno,  bringing the total casualties to eight.”
