Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly have condemned the action of Mudashiru Obasa,  its ousted speaker, who stormed the Assembly complex on Thursday, claiming that he had resumed his position
Obasa had told journalists at the assembly complex that he remained the speaker.

However, 36 out of the 40 lawmakers in the House reaffirmed their support for the current speaker, Mojisola Meranda, saying they  had had enough of Obasa.

Steven Ogundipe, the Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Security and Strategy, stated on behalf of other lawmakers that they had not changed their minds on the  Obasa’s removal.

“He was not elected as Speaker by his constituency. We endured his master-slave leadership for nearly a decade. Now, we’ve had enough, and we’re not backing down,” Ogundipe stated.

Meanwhile, like a replay of the crisis in Rivers State, had on Thursday presided over a plenary attended by a four lawmakers, who were reportedly identified as Hon. Nursing Akinsanya, Hon. Jubreel Kareem, Hon. Noheem Adams and Jon Yinka ESho.
Obasa was quoted as saying that the important thing was that they held plenary and he would not vompel anybody to attend.
