It was classy by every definition of that word, as the Eastern Heartland of Imo State melded its culture with that of Benue, the North-central state of Nigeria during the traditional marriage ceremony of their children, Tobenna Chibueze, and her Prince Charming, Ode Isaiah.
The parents of the couple, Ambassador Theo Chibueze and his elegant wife, pulled all the stops to ensure that their Benue in-laws were well received.
The in-laws, led by the parents of the groom, Mr. & Mrs. Ode Benjamin Obo, did not disappoint either, as they mobilised their people to turn out in their numbers to receive their wife.
The occasion which showcased glam and elan was held at Envogue Centre, Okota, on Sunday, January 26, 2025.
As expected of an event organised by Ambassador Chibueze, a socialite and notable business merchant at Balogun market and grassroots political mobiliser, guests thronged the venue in their hundreds.
There were businessmen and women, captains of industries, politicians and socialites, including some thespians from Nollywood and the fashion world.
It was not easy taking note of the many eminent dignitaries that graced the occasion but one could not miss Chief Goddy Uwazurike, the former chairman of Igbo think tank, Aka Ikenga and a chieftain of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
The legal luminary is also the Ide of Igbo land.
He was the chairman of the occasion.
Also present was Chief Dr Camilius Amajuoyi, the Chairman, Alaba International Market, Ojo Alaba, Lagos.
His Royal Highness, Eze Dr Okechukwu Anoruo, the Eze of Igbogbo Kingdom, Ikorodu, Lagos, was also there with his beautiful lolo.
Chief and Lady Nick Duru and Hope Moses of
FC Energy Nigeria Ltd. as well as Mrs Shite, the mother of the day, were there too, among several other dignitaries, who added clout to the cross cultural marriage.
There was much to eat and drink. The emcee was on top of his game as well as the disc jockey, who wowed all and kept virtually everyone on their feet, dancing or miming great music he dished out.
Here’s wishing the couple a super blessed, peaceful and fruitful married life.
