Joseph Aloba, the father of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, who was popularly known as Mohbad, has raised eyebrows when he said his son’s death brought improvement to his life.
Mohbad had died under controversial circumstances on September 12, 2023.
However, speaking in an interview with media personality Akin Abolade, the older Aloba attributed the improvement in his life to “divine intervention” and the “spirit of Mohbad.”
According to him, after his son’s death, many well-wishers gave him gifts, including a car, a truck, and a block industry, adding that he had also released nine songs since the tragedy.
Aloba accused Mohbad’s wife with whom he had been having a running battle and her family of preventing the singer from fully fulfilling his responsibilities to him while alive.
“Let me just say yes because Mohbad is my friend. He had plans to do a lot of things for me but they did not allow him to perform his duties to my own life,” Aloba said.
“After his death, I know it is the spirit of Mohbad and the spirit of God combined together that began to send people to assist me.
“Even the car that I’m using, someone gave it to me. All what I’m using now, people are just dashing me and it’s beyond ordinary.
“I can’t just say it’s because of my power, but it’s the spirit of Mohbad and the spirit of God that led those people to give me all what they’ve given me.
“With what I have experienced now, his wife is one of the people that didn’t let Mohbad fulfill his responsibilities in my life.”
Aloba and Omowunmi have been at daggers drawn over a disputed DNA test to determine the paternity of Mohbad’s son, Liam. While Aloba is calling for a police probe, Omowunmi, has accused him of avoiding the test.
