Human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishi, on Tuesday disclosed that Kidnappers reportedly killed a banker in Anambra State after collecting ransom from the family.

Gwamnishi in a Facebook post said the deceased was a banker and identified her simply as Ifeoma.

She was said to have been abducted in Onitsha by the kidnappers, who ended up killing her and dumped her corpse around Ideani junction, along Nnobi/Alor road.

“Ifeoma, a banker was kidnapped in Anambra State. Ransom was demanded and the family paid but her abductors still killed her and dumped her body around along Ideani junction Nnobi/Alor road Anambra,” the post read.

“Lives are being taken daily and it’s sad nothing is being done to end all this killings. WHO IS NEXT? If we keep fold our hands and do nothing, it may get to you,” he wrote.

Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesman for the Anambra State Police Command, confirmed the development, adding that the corpse had been evacuated from the road.

“The command received the information about an abandoned female corpse found along the Nnobi-Alor Road allegedly dumped by suspected kidnappers,” Ikenga said.

“The corpse has been evacuated, the pictures have been escalated and investigations have begun to unravel the circumstances behind the death of the victim.”
