A serving female corps member at Government Day Junior Secondary School, Kulende, Ilorin, Kwara State, has been allegedly battered by a male teacher in the school over what he described as “improper greeting.”

The victim had reportedly gone to the school for her clearance letter when the teacher reportedly attacked her for not greeting him appropriately, eyewitnesses said.

The situation escalated, leading to the teacher allegedly physically assaulting the lady.
The details of the incident are not yet fully clear but the battering of the female corps member has sparked outrage among students and staff at the school, as well as within the NYSC community.
Meanwhile, the local education authorities and NYSC officials have reportedly waded into the matter and commenced an investigation to ascertain what really happened.
Stressing its commitment to ensuring the safety and dignity of all corps members during their service year, the NYSC vowed that the matter would not be treated with levity.
