The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has announced that it has busted a shrine where illicit drugs are hidden in Lagos.
The discovery, which was made at Alfa Beach in the Ajah area of the state led to the arrest of two suspects, identified as Gbenga Abiodun and Sunday Abiodun.
Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA spokesman, disclosed in a statement on Sunday, that bags of Ghanaian Loud and cannabis were discovered at the shrine.
According to the statement: “NDLEA operatives in Lagos on Friday 25th October raided the Igbo – Igunuko shrine, located at the Alfa Beach, Ajah, where jumbo bags of Ghanaian Loud, a strain of cannabis, weighing 2,760kg were recovered and two suspects: Gbenga Abiodun and Sunday Abiodun arrested.
“Another suspect, Ademola Oyelakin was also arrested the same day with 770kg of the same psychoactive substance along Lagos-Ibadan expressway.”
Furthermore, Babafemi said, another suspect was on Wednesday October 23, arrested at Pilgani village in Plateau State.
The suspect, 39-year-old Fadan Bindom, was nabbed with 65.85kg cannabis and 18 grams of tramadol.
Similarly, on the same day, one Sunday Agbata, 42, was also arrested at Pavwei – Rayfield in Jos South LGA with 5,830 tablets and ampoules of bromazepam, diazepam and pentazocine injection.
