Umar Namadi, Governor of Jigawa State,  has suspended Auwalu Sankara, the state Commissioner for Special Duties, following his alleged involvement in an adulterous relationship with a married woman.
The Kano State Hisbah Board had alleged that Sankara.was caught in adultery with the woman in an uncompleted building.
Malam Bala Ibrahim, Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, announced in a statement on Saturday that Governor Namadi suspended the commissioner to allow an unfettered investigation into the allegations to ensure transparency and maintain the integrity of the state administration.
The Kano State Hisbah Board had alleged that, following intelligence tracking and a series of complaints received about Sankara’s alleged misconduct, he was caught in adultery with a married woman and mother of two in an uncompleted building belonging to him.

The woman’s husband, Nasiru Bulama, had reportedly lodged complaints against Sankara with multiple authorities, including the Kano State Police Command and the Department of State Services (DSS) for engaging in illicit sexual activities with his wife.

Meanwhile, the commissioner had on Friday night, denied the allegations, saying they were false, baseless, and malicious.

“My attention has been drawn to a recent media report alleging that I, Auwal D. Sankara, Commissioner for Special Duties in the Jigawa State Government, have been arrested by the Kano Hisbah Command on charges of having an affair with a married woman,” Sankara stated.

“I wish to categorically state that these allegations are entirely false, baseless, and malicious, aimed at tarnishing my reputation. I urge the general public to disregard this fabricated story, which has been concocted by certain political elements to damage my character and integrity.

“As a married man, I have the utmost respect for the institution of marriage and would never engage in actions that violate its sanctity. I remain committed to upholding the values and principles that I stand for.

“I am taking this matter seriously and will pursue legal action against those responsible for spreading this false information and attempting to cause harm to my person.”
