The man whose wife purportedly tore his international passport at the Murtala Mohammad International Airport, MMIA, Lagos, has claimed it was a skit.
Recall that the couple had arrived in Nigeria with their three children but set the social media on fire when his wife, Favour Igiebor, ‘seemingly’ tore her husband’s international passport in a rage.
In a video she later posted online, Mrs Igiebor said she tore the passport to prevent her husband from traveling abroad due to a protracted family feud.
The Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, had waded into the matter, saying in a statement, it was being investigated, adding that the NIS had invited the woman for questioning.
However, Igiebor, the man at the centre of the drama, in a bizarre twist, now claims that his passport was not torn as purported.
He pleaded in a video trending online: “I am here with my kids to send a message of appeal to the public and the whole world. What my wife tore is not a passport. She never tore my passport. My passport is intact. It’s a skit of somebody’s story.
“We didn’t know it would turn out this way. I’m begging everybody to forgive us. The immigration has seen my passport.”
