Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists on Sunday raided a police station in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.

The attack on Jakana Police Station, about 45 kilometers from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, led to the death of a police driver and a woman.

The attackers also reportedly razed two patrol vehicles, belonging to the police and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and escaped with several arms and ammunition.

According to local sources, the terrorists launched the attack on the police station along the Damaturu-Maiduguri expressway at about 1am

They engaged the security forces in a fierce gun duel that lasted for nearly three hours before fleeing. 

Hon. Abbas Ali Abari, Chairman of Konduga Local Government Area, who confirmed the incident but said he did not have details on casualties.
