MTN, a leading telecommunications and digital services giant, has reiterated its commitment to ensuring shared value for its stakeholders.
This resolve was disclosed in the company’s 2023 sustainability report, which unveiled its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices.
It further said it had expanded its network coverage to cover 92.9 per cent of the country’s landscape, while its investment in capital expenditure was increased by 13.2 per cent to N571 billion in 2023.
Karl Toriola, MTN’s CEO, said in a filing with the NGX, the company’s Sustainability Report highlighted the telco’s commitment to creating shared value for all its stakeholders.
He disclosed that MTN’s 4G coverage grew by 2.4 percentage points from 79.1 per cent in 2022 to 81.5 per cent in 2023, while 5G coverage grew by 8.1 percentage points from 3.2 per cent in 2022 to 11.3 per cent in 2023.
This, the CEO said, boosted the company’s percentage of the market share from 50.8 per cent in 2022 to 52.1 per cent in 2023.
