Unknown gunmen strike again, kill two cops in Imo ambush

Two policemen have lost their lives in an ambush by unidentified gunmen in Okigwe, Imo State.

The slain cops were attached to the Majority Leader of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Kingsley Ikoro, but we’re killed on Sunday while the officers traveling in the convoy of the lawmaker.

It was gathered that one of the vehicles the team was traveling in broke down necessitating that cops remained behind while the rest continued the journey.

Sadly, the unknown gunmen struck, killing the two officers in the highly volatile of the state.

Henry Okoye, the spokesperson for the Imo State Police Command, on Monday, vowed that the law must catch of with the perpetrators of the heinous act.

“There is no hiding place for those behind this heinous crime,” Okoye declared.

“The bodies of the officers, who paid the supreme price in the line of duty, have been evacuated to a morgue, and a thorough investigation is underway.”

The police spokesperson added that the Command had deployed tactical teams to comb surrounding bushes to hunt down the culprits, adding that they would be made to face justice when apprehended.
