Nigeria’s D’Tigress have again won the Women’s AfroBasket title, after defeating Mali to win the coveted trophy for the
fifth consecutive.

The Nigerian team beat the Malian ladies 78-64 to lift to becomes champions for the seventh time, extending their unbeaten streak at the Women’s AfroBasket tournament to 29 games.

With the victory, the Rena Wakama’s D’Tigress also qualified for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup, which will be hosted by Germany.

The victory did not come easily. Though
D’Tigress dominated the first quarter, which it won 26-21, the two rivals settled scores evenly at 41-41 in the second quarter.

However, D’Tigress subdued the hard-fighting Malians 61-56 in the third quarter, eventually claiming the title with you 78-64 advantage.
