Dalori steps in as APC’s new National Chairman 

He was sworn in on Friday, June 27, following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje from the position.

Dalori had served as the Deputy National Chairman (North), but has now officially assumed leadership of the ruling party pending its National Convention in December 2025.

Held at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, the swearing-in ceremony, was attended by members of the National Working Committee (NWC), state party leaders, and other top stakeholders, who applauded as Dalori was administered the oath of office.

Speaking after taking the oath, the new party helmsman harped on unity, discipline, and inclusiveness as the hallmarks of his leadership, vowing to strengthen internal party cohesion and ensure open and honest preparations for the upcoming convention.

Borno State-born Dalori is a grassroots politician, who is widely perceived as a calm and strategic leader. He has been instrumental to the APC’s internal negotiations and reconciliation efforts since the 2023 general elections.

Analysts see his emergence at the helm of the party as a positive move that is likely to restore internal balance and put the party on a good footing ahead in the upcoming off-cycle governorship polls and the 2027 elections.
