Svetlana, a 46 year old mother in Russia has been arrested for hiring a male acquaintance to murder her 12-year-old daughter over constant arguments between them.
According to the police, the woman who lives in the Chelyabinsk region in the country, offered the contract killer, 36-year old Andrey £930 to drown her child in a river in the region because both had a bad relationship.
However, while discussing with the man who was to carry out the assassination, the girl was hiding behind a door and overheard her mother’s conversation with the would-be killer, giving him details of how to carry out the killing.
Not knowing the girl was aware of the plan to kill her, the mother, who had three other children, sent the 12-year old out of the house on an errand with Andre to Izmailovsky settlement. While on the way, Andrey told the girl her mother’s plan to have her killed.
‘When they were walking along the road, the schoolgirl was very afraid and worried but the man told her everything and promised to protect her. He hid the girl at his home and went to the police,” the police said.
Svetlana was arrested and when asked why she wanted her daughter drowned, she blamed her bad relationship and constant argument with her daughter as the reason she wanted her killed.
If convicted，she faces up to 15 years in jail for incitement to murder a minor. The girl has been placed in care with two siblings, aged 17 and six while the mother also has an adult daughter aged 18.
