Three construction workers have been rescued with varying degrees of injuries after a one-storey building collapsed at Ishaga Road, opposite Idi Araba Central Mosque in the Mushin area of Lagos State.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, in a statement, said the building was under construction before the incident occurred.

According to her, the building collapse prompted a swift response from multiple emergency agencies aside from the fire service.

She stated that this included the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps, the Lagos State Ambulance Service, and the Nigeria Police.

Adeseye added that three male adults had so far been rescued from the rubble and were receiving treatment.

The statement read, “A building under construction at the one-storey level suddenly collapsed at 96 Ishaga Road, opposite Idi Araba Central Mosque, Mushin, Lagos. The distress call was received at approximately 15:30 hours. Punch
