Kidnapped Ogun businessman released after payment of N300m ransom

Prince Bankole Adepegba, also called “Ade Bendel,” who was kidnapped in Ogun State on Wednesday, has regained his freedom after his family paid a whopping N300 million ransom.

The popular businessman was abducted at IIara town in Imeko-Afon Local Government Area of  the state.
Gunmen reportedly invaded the community at about 11 pm on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, killed two persons and whisked their victim away to Benin Republic.

According to security analyst, Zagazola Makama, sources told him that the abductors released him to his family overnight on Saturday, May 3, following the payment of 100 million CFA francs, which amounts to about N300 million.

Police sources also said Ade Bendel was taken to BOHCON Hospital in the Republic of Benin for medical attention

after he had regained his freedom.

Furthermore , his car, a Toyota Corolla is at the Sabe Police Station in Benin Republic, where it was recovered during the incident.
