The tragedy occurred when a cement-laden truck suffered brake failure while descending the Kugbo hill and consequently crushing several vehicles with their occupants.
The driver of the truck had reportedly tried to flee the carnage but was apprehended by commercial motorcyclists around Karu Roundabout.
It could be recalled that a similar fatal crash had taken place on the same Karu Bridge barely a month ago, when a Dangote trailer powered by CNG, which also suffered brake malfunction crashed into several vehicles, resulting in multiple deaths barely.
