The Nigerian Senate has imposed a six-month suspension on Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, over her allegation of sexual harassment against the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
The Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions recommended her suspension, claiming that she was guilty of misconduct and failure to appear before the committee to defend her allegation.
Senator Neda Imasuen, Chairman of the committee, the while presenting its report said they found Akpoti-Uduaghan guilty for failing to comply with the committee’s proceedings.
Additionally, the Senate ordered that her salary and security details be withdrawn during the suspension period while her office should be locked up.
