The remains of John Okafor, aka ‘Mr Ibu’, we’re on Friday committed to mother earth.
The burial of the iconic Nollywood comic actor took place in his native town of Amuri, Nkanu West Council of Enugu State.
It was preceded by a night of tributes on Wednesday, where colleagues and admirers of the late actor gathered to honour him.
The event was graced by Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections.
It reflected the life of Mr Ibu, as an entertainer, the legacy and the profound impact he had on the industry.
Without doubt, Mr. Ibu was one of Nollywood’s best comic acts, but succumbed to death by cardiac arrest in March 2024 in Lagos, following complications from the amputation of one of his legs.
Ibu was 62 but left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
