A revealing document, allegedly written by former Hamas commander Rafa’a Salameh, has shed light on the severe struggles facing the terror group. According to The Times Of Israel, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant shared the document, which details the drastic depletion of Hamas’s resources and immense losses. The letter, addressed to Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and his brother Muhammad, paints a bleak picture of the group’s situation.
Salameh’s words describe a organisation on the brink of collapse, with 90-95% of its rocket capabilities lost, 60% of personal weapons gone, and 50% of its fighters either martyred or wounded. The remaining 25% of fighters are reportedly “broken” on a mental or physical level.
Gallant emphasised the significance of the document, highlighting the immense toll of Israel’s military actions on Hamas’s fighting capability and morale. The defense minister noted that Salameh’s plea for help was directed towards the powerless Sinwar brothers, who are unable to offer assistance due to Israel’s relentless pressure.
The leaked document comes as Yahya Sinwar, the new head of Hamas, faces the daunting task of leading a severely weakened organisation. The group’s losses, as described by Salameh, are staggering, with significant damage to both manpower and equipment. Israel’s ongoing military campaign has taken a substantial toll on Hamas, and Gallant’s revelation of the letter serves as a testament to the effectiveness of these efforts.
